No, the dust from the carpet might get in and mess it up. Or it could get the carpet really hot and….. you don’t want to know what happens next.

    NO! no! no!

if you don’t want your XBox360, give it to me!! for your own good, keep your console off the carpet! electric static can occur and will occur. its bad enough that dust travels onto your machine, don’t add shock to the equation. it could take weeks or even days for something to happen, don’t forget this not one moment but as you know, the console has a harddrive just like your pc, a (magnetic disk) thats all they are. what do you think would happen if polarity changes from one source to the other?
Short or burnout. keep your system safe, they cost too much!!!

not probably cause the dirt form carpet may get into system and they may be a problem
also if you have kids or little children in house its bad move so if you do but it up high where small kids wont reach cause they might mess it up

Thats where i keep mines, nothing happened. What could happen is if you had a little baby brother or sister running around they might spill on it, or someone might step on it and make it dirty with scratches, or your brother’s friend might steal it, but personally if you don’t have a sibling than you should keep it on the carpet. – there’s no time estimate to “when” it will happen.

It could mabey mabey I think. catch the carpet on fire if it gets real hot.

Probably not a good idea because the carpet could block the air vent, which would make your 360 overheat.

If it’s vertical, it could easily tip over, and if you’re playing a game at the time that it tips over, your game is ruined.

I think it would take less than 1 hour for the 360 to overheat. The 360 can get quite hot.

No carpet fibers will get in the motor that drives the cd.
